Your Share (Savings) Account

Share (Savings) Accounts are the foundation of your LES People’s FCU membership.

They are called Share Accounts, as opposed to simply Savings Accounts, to signify each member’s ownership of the credit union. Your Share Account represents your share in the cooperative and is the key to becoming a member-owner.

The Share Account is the required account needed to open additional products such as:

  • ✔️ Share Draft (Checking)
  • ✔️ Share Certificates
  • ✔️ Lending Products
  • ✔️ Credit Cards
  • ✔️ and more!

Your funds in the Share Account are federally insured through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), providing safety and security for your deposits.

Requirements

    • Driver’s license

    • Passport

    • Municipal ID (IDNYC)

    • Consular identification card

    • Current telephone, utility, or cable bill (cannot be dated past 30 days)

    • Current lease or rent receipt (lease/rent receipt cannot be dated past 30 days)

    • Current clinic card showing the address

    • Current Human Resources letter from public assistance

  • A minimum deposit of $75.00 is suggested to avoid a $3.00 monthly maintenance fee. The account must never be below $25.00 which is the minimum to have a share in the credit union.

  • Anyone who live, work, volunteer, worship, attend school, or belong to an organization located in the boundaries of this field of membership can become members of LES People's FCU

Join by Select Partner Group (SPG)

Submit proof of eligibility. For example, if you are joining through a Select Partner Group, please bring proof that you are affiliated with that organization, such as:

  • ✔️ A pay stub if you are an employee
  • ✔️ A letter from the organization on official letterhead stating your affiliation (board member, volunteer, member, etc.)
  • ✔️ A referral form from the Select Partner Group

For Bronx residents: Referral from an SPG Group or proof of HDFC residency is required.

An annual account service fee of $5.00 will be charged every July 31st. This fee is for Personal and Business accounts
